Lisbon’s Arctic Science Summit Week took place online between 19 and 26 of March 2021. ASSW2021 was divided into 5 days of business and community meetings and 3 days for the science conference.

The business meetings counted with 700 registered participants, 189 of which registering exclusively for the business days. During these days, 36 meetings took place including the IASC regular meetings, other meetings organized by IASC partners, and several project workshops.

In the science conference, a total of 1224 participants attended the 82 scientific sessions, 5 invited keynote lectures, and the 2020 and 2021 IASC medal lectures, by Sue Moore and Atsumu Ohmura.

A total of 168h of video were recorded during the scientific sessions and will be made available for a 6-month period following the conference. This will allow all registered participants to easily access and watch the sessions that they were not able to attend or view again the memorable keynotes or sessions where they have participated.

The ASSW2021 Local Organizing Committee is disappointed for not being able to welcome you in Lisbon but is also really happy about the success of the conference, based on the very positive feedback received.

We hope to have a chance to meet you very soon in our beautiful Lisbon.

João Canário e Gonçalo Vieira.
