ASSW2020 will be held in Akureyri, Iceland, from 27 March to 2 April 2020. Three main blocks form ASSW2020:
- "Science for a Sustainable Arctic", 27 March 2020
Science for a Sustainable Arctic is an international assembly bringing together international policymakers and scientists to discuss key Arctic issues. The event will be held in Hof, the Cultural Centre of Akureyri. Science for a Sustainable Arctic Draft Agenda - IASC Business & Community Meetings, 28-30 March 2020
The IASC Council, Executive Committee and Working Groups will gather to discuss opportunities for coordination, cooperation and collaboration within the international Arctic research community, as well as IASC matters. The entire Arctic community is encouraged to use ASSW as a venue for bringing together their organizations, collaborations, and teams. ASSW organizers provide the logistical support and your meeting attendees only have to register for ASSW2020. - 5th Arctic Observing Summit (AOS), 31 March - 2 April 2020
Theme of the 5th AOS is "Observing for Action". The Arctic Observing Summit is an international biennial forum that aims to provide knowledge-based guidance for the design, implementation, coordination and operation of sustained, long-term international network of Arctic observing systems.
IASC would like also to remind you that the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) in cooperation with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) have made available travel support for ASSW2020 for Indigenous, Early Career, & Russian Science participants. Please submit your application via this online form by no later than 12 December 2019 at 07:00 am GMT. Late applications will not be considered. No exceptions will be made.
