IASC Bulletin 2024 CoverAt the IASC Council Meeting during ASSW2024 in Edinburgh, IASC released its 2024 Bulletin, reporting on the IASC-supported activities over the past years. In it, the five IASC Working Groups (AtmosphereCryosphere, Marine, Social & HumanTerrestrial) share exciting scientific highlights of their international and interdisciplinary work, and IASC leadership and Fellows share their perspectives on working with IASC.

In the lead-up to its 35th anniversary in 2025, the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) is coordinating a multi-year planning process for the Fourth International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP IV) lasting from 2022 until 2026. Chapter 3 is fully dedicated to the ICARP IV Process, its Community-Wide Engagement and its Research Priority Teams (RPTs).

In Chapter 4, the Bulletin provides comprehensive information on the 5th International Polar Year (2032-2033). The 5th IPY (2032-33) will bring the longstanding tradition of organizing regular IPYs to an era of unprecedented need for large-scale coordinated research on polar and global changes.
