The Eighth International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-8) will be held as an in-person meeting in Hachioji City of Tokyo, from October 28 to 31, 2025.
The deadline for proposals for special sessions at the 8th International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-8) has been extended to December 20, 2024.
The scientific program of ISAR-8 consists of Plenary, Regular, and Special sessions.
In addition to 10 Regular sessions*, proposals for special sessions are now solicited. Sessions with interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary themes as well as those focusing on specific topics are encouraged. *Regular Session topics:
1) Atmosphere; 2) Ocean and sea ice; 3) Rivers, lakes, permafrost, and snow cover; 4) Ice sheets, glaciers, and ice cores; 5) Terrestrial ecosystems; 6) Marine ecosystems; 7) Geospace; 8) Laws, politics, and economy; 9) Language, culture, and environment; and 10) Engineering for sustainable development, As an opportunity to discuss a wide range of research topics related to the Arctic, the ISAR places values on diversity, equity, and inclusion in Arctic science, and welcomes your participation.
