BEPSII, the Biogeochemical Exchange Processes at Sea-Ice Interfaces research community (www.BEPSII.org ), has funding available to support early career scientists in research collaborations and exchanges related to biogeochemistry of sea-ice and the polar environment. We are particularly interested in supporting short visits between institutions but will also consider other relevant collaboration activities (examples of some past awards can be found here.
The number of grants awarded and the amount of money given in each grant will depend on the number and quality of the applications received. Previous grants ranged between €1000 and €2500.
To apply, please submit a proposal that is no longer than 2 pages and includes your name, current affiliation, and career stage, as well as:
1) the name(s), affiliation(s), and contributions of your collaborator(s);
2) a description of what you would like to do;
3) how it would benefit your research and/or career development;
4) a proposed timeline; and
5) an explanation of the funds you are requesting.
Please send your application, along with any other relevant documents (e.g., your CV, support letters, etc.), to Eeva Eronen-Rasimus (eeva.eronen-rasimus@helsinki.fi) and Pat Wongpan (pat.wongpan@utas.edu.au) by 31 March, 2024.
