4th International PalaeoArc Conference and NORDQUA Excursion 2023

The 4th International PalaeoARC Conference will be held in the Hof cultural center in Akureyri from the 27th to the 30th of August 2023, followed by a 3-day NORDQUA Excursion in northern Iceland between August 31st and September 2nd. For the first time the two international research groups will be gathering in sequence. PalaeoArc is an international research network which aims to better understand the climatically induced environmental changes in the Arctic from the Quaternary to the present-day. NORDQUA is the Nordic Union for Quaternary Research. Both programs promote interdisciplinary cooperation and scientific communication and encourage networking between young scientists. The merging of these two events into one gathering in Iceland is a natural combination which will further enhance network development; promote cross disciplinary collaboration and minimize the footprint associated with travel. This style of conference and excursion builds on the decades-long-tradition of like-events which has consequently facilitated the development of today’s Arctic researchers and academic ambassadors.
